Sunday, August 1, 2010: On Saturday, Jesse drove from Burwash, Yukon, to Nenana, Alaska, a trip of about 470 miles! Nenana Alaska is located at mile 305 of the Parks Highway. This historic community / Athabascan Native Village is 56 miles from Fairbanks and 75 miles north of Denali National Park. Interestingly, when I ‘googled’ this town, I learned about some of the businesses, such as the “Two Choice CafĂ©” and the “Bed and Maybe Breakfast”—speaks volumes about the possibilities in the remote areas of Alaska! Jess was awakened during the night in his tent, by the howling of wolves and then dogs in the area!
